세계모유수유주간(World Breastfeeding Week)이란?

세계모유수유주간(WBW; World Breastfeeding Week)은 매년 8월 첫 째주(8월 1-7일간)으로서, 유니세프의 협력기구이며 전 세계 24개 모유수유 권장 기구들의 협의체인 세계모유수유연맹(World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action:WABA)에 의해 지난 1992년에 제정되었습니다. 이 기간동안 전 세계 120 여 개 국가에서 모유수유 증진을 위한 애드보커시와 홍보 이벤트를 개최함으로써 모유수유를 집중적으로 홍보합니다.
