This is the Senaki Institute, a residential complex for mentally disabled children in Georgia.
It's home to over 100 children, abandoned by their families.
During the recent conflict in and around South Ossetia, Georgia, the institute nearly became the very front line.
The building was damaged in the fighting. UNICEF is helping to rebuild the Institute and stepping up to help its young residents feel safe again.
Soon after the war ended, supplies were delivered to accelerate recovery.
A generous donation made by UNICEF's German National Committee has helped improve children's living quarters.
Caregivers have received one on one training and counseling to help them assist young people traumatized by the conflict.
One of the best remedies so far has been letting children play together. When UNICEF aid workers returned to Senaki, they didn’t forget to bring toys and footballs.
